Monster Island, The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster, was released ironically around the same period as Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It is about an island called Monster Island; there may be a monster. The monster is, if I am not mistaken, the island itself.


As this is a film about an asylum, it has a budget comparable to a large kid's meal and utilizes (Monster Island (2019) by Decker Shado) it lightly, concentrating on a handful of human characters and filming all of the big stars' sequences in a single location during lunch. The Asylum is not a bad movie, but let's not forget it's a kaiju flick.
